Recently, my mom and I took my 12 year old and 9 year old sons to a Casting Crowns concert in Raleigh, NC. The opening band for the Thrive tour is For King and Country. Their exciting stage show and multitude of drums really caught the attention of my youngest son, and the rest of us, too. For King and Country talked about their passion to help women understand that they deserve to be honored and respected. They reminded all the guys that it is their Godly duty to honor and respect the girls in their world. They sold necklaces and bracelets to help us remember the message.
My nine year old must have been convicted because about 30 minutes after For King and Country left the stage, he leaned over to me and said he needed to buy a bracelet for every boy in his class. Thankfully, for the sake of my pocketbook, the fourth grade at our school is small and has only a few boys. He delivered the bracelets and the message to the class the next week. We’re praying the message will become a life lesson for all in the class.
Thanks to For King and Country for using your stage to inspire all of us. Oh, and Casting Crowns was pretty amazing, too.
